​In Illinois, a Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) is a residential program designed for adults aged 18 and over with developmental disabilities or mental illnesses. These arrangements typically accommodate eight or fewer unrelated individuals in settings such as group homes, family homes, or apartments, providing a supervised environment that fosters independence and community integration. Residents receive personalized services, including habilitation, personal support, and other assistance tailored to their needs, all coordinated by a community support team. The primary goal of CILAs is to promote self-sufficiency and facilitate the integration of individuals into the broader community.
